Greg Davies' Top 5 Funniest TV Moments

Greg Davies' Top 5 Funniest TV Moments

With a huge tour spanning across the UK, the much-awaited ‘Full Fat Legend’ Tour will see comedian Greg Davies take to the stage for the first time since 2018 on his biggest tour yet! You don’t want to miss out, tickets are on sale now.

Whilst we wait with anticipation for 2025 to roll around, let’s celebrate some of Greg’s best TV moments so far:

  1. The Inbetweeners

Greg Davies steals the show in The Inbetweeners as Mr. Gilbert, the tough-talking head of sixth form. With his towering presence and sharp tongue, Davies is effortlessly hilarious in every interaction with Will, Simon, Jay, and Neil. From his memorable one-liners to his harsh punishments, Mr. Gilbert's antics provide some of the most side-splitting moments in the series (and remind us of that teacher no one liked at school!) .

2. Taskmaster

Greg Davies channels the authoritative demeanour of his character from The Inbetweeners into his role as the Taskmaster in Taskmaster. With a hint of school teacher harshness, he delights in wielding power as he assigns fellow celebrity comedians a series of bizarre, hilarious, and occasionally impossible tasks to complete! Whilst the tasks themselves have created some serious TV gold, it’s Greg’s banter with the contestants, and his assistant Alex Horne, which creates the uniquely bonkers, hilarious, and sometimes downright cruel, dynamic this show is so heralded for.

3. The Cleaner

First premiering in 2021, and with two series under its belt, The Cleaner sees Davies brings his trademark humour to lead character Paul “Wicky” Wickstead, a crime scene cleaner. In the series, we follow Wicky as he navigates the absurdity of his job, and the many eccentric characters he encounters; handling it with that sharp wit Greg Davies is known and loved for, but interwoven with moments of heartfelt sincerity. A must watch for fans who love to see Greg shine in a sitcom role.

4. Cuckoo

It’s no surprise that Cuckoo was BBC Three’s most watched comedy show launch. With an absolutely stellar cast of Andy Samberg, Taylor Lautner, Greg Davies, Helen Baxendale and lots more, this eccentric comedy follows Greg Davies as he comes to terms with his daughter’s unexpected, and a bit wacky, new husband Cuckoo. In his role as the father Ken, whether he's engaging in hilarious rants about the chaos caused by Cuckoo or showcasing moments of genuine vulnerability, Davies' performance adds depth and humour to Cuckoo, making it a standout comedy series.

5. Would I Lie To You?

From Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, to Would I Lie To You? and Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Greg has certainly made a name for himself on comedy panel shows - you just know his banter between the other contestants or guests will be worth watching. But with so many funny appearances across many shows to choose from, it was almost impossible to whittle just one down! However, we’ll leave you with one of Greg’s stories from Would I Lie To You? that we find particularly bonkers, but hilarious.

Tickets to see Greg Davies take over the UK on his Full Fat Legend tour are on sale now! Book today.
