Discover new artists music

This week we think you should get to know Christopher Paul Stelling, Ward Thomas, Area 11, Oh Papa and RoRo – if you don’t know them already. Discover more about these awesome artists and listen to their music below.
Impassioned folk singer and virtuosic guitar player, Christopher Paul Stelling, released his album, Best of Luck, earlier this year. The album was produced by Ben Harper, who’s worked with the likes of Mavis Staples, Rickie Lee Jones, The Blind Boys of Alabama and more. Christopher plays a London show in April 2021.

British country pop duo, Ward Thomas, are sisters hailing from Hampshire. They’ve been called ‘Britain’s first country stars’, mixing an American sound and British themed lyrics. They’ve released four studio albums, their first three reached number one in the UK Country charts and their latest album reached number two. They play Liverpool’s Grand Central Hall in 2021.

British four-piece Area 11’s music genre is hard to define – ranging from dance-rock anthems to electronic soundscapes and nostalgic acoustic songs. They’ve had their music featured on some of the UK’s biggest YouTube channels. They play Factory Manchester in May 2021.

Sheffield four-piece, Oh Papa, blend Americana, soft rock and subtle surf to create their chilled laid-back sound. They’ve supported Shonen Knife, Boy Azooga and Still Corners. They dropped their latest track, Change That Tune, last month.

London based RoRo hails from Barbados, her sound is inspired by her Bajan heritage as well as her idols Etta James, Erykah Badu, Lauren Hill and Nina Simone. She’s received support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and BBC 1xtra. She released her debut EP, Mood Forever, in August – its tropical sound will transport you straight to the Caribbean.
