Ones to Watch in 2024

2023 has been a great year of musical discovery. From big-hitters and huge stadium shows to new acts at grassroots venues, localised club nights and unmissable outdoor events, we’ve been there through it all.

We can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store – so we’ve compiled our picks of some artists we’re expecting big things from / we’re keeping an eye on next year!

Olivia Dean

London singer Olivia Dean began her career collaborating with British drum and bass band Rudimental on a live performance of their 2017 single with Emeli Sande, Free.

Inspired by Paul Simon, Amy Winehouse & Aretha Franklin, to name just a few, Dean’s soulful pop writing and clean delivery has seen her live crowds grow from strength to strength.

She’s released 4 EPs – OK Love You Bye (2019), What Am I Gonna Do On Sundays (2020), Olivia Dean If You Know What I Mean (2021) & Growth (2021) before unleashing her acclaimed debut full length album, Messy, earlier this year.

NewDad

Formed in 2018, Irish rock quartet, NewDad – consisting of Julie Dawson, Áindle O'Beirn, Fiachra Parslow, and Paul Galvin – gained attention for their dreamy and atmospheric sound, characterized by lush guitar textures and ethereal vocals.

Having released multiple singles between 2020 and 2023, the band announced their debut album, MADRA – which translates as 'dog' in Irish) earlier this year – and it’s due for release in January 2024. Get tickets!

LYNKS

Queer electro-pop icon, LYNKS can be recognised by his signature homemade masks and spirited, high-octane live performances. The alter-ego and brainchild of producer Elliot Brett has since created the kind of tongue-in-cheek industrial dance-pop that has garnered a huge cult-following.

Junodream

Dream-rock group Junodream grew up together and bonded over their common love of Pink Floyd, Spiritualized, AIR & more. They began playing nostalgic, space-rock anthems together in 2018, and have since released two EPs Isn't It Lovely (To Be Alone) in 2019 & Travel Guide in 2021.

Brutus

Post-punk Belgian three-piece, Brutus formed in 2013 and consists of vocalist and drummer Stefanie Mannaerts, guitarist Stijn Vanhoegaerden and bassist Peter Mulders. The trio met while playing in multiple different bands around Leuven, and released their debut album Burst in 2017.

Since then, the metal act have released Nest in 2019 and Unison Life in 2022.

Courting

Liverpudlian electronic rock band, Courting began life in 2018, releasing a flurry of singles throughout 2019 and 2020, including Football, Not Yr Man and David Byrne's Badside. In 2021, a single and EP, both entitled Grand National followed before the release of their debut record, Guitar Music in 2022.

The quartets sophomore effort, New Last Name, is due for release in 2024.

Noname

Back with a bang after a few year hiatus, Chicago rapper, producer and activist Noname has announced a date at London’s Eventim Apollo. Known for her thought-provoking lyrics, captivating presence, and soulful sound – the singer-songwriter who previously collaborated with acts including Anderson Paak, Chance The Rapper, Jay Electronica and more.

In August 2023, she released her highly anticipated second album, Sundial, which she will tour in 2024.

Caity Baser

Hot on the heels of announcing her biggest tour to date: the Still Learning tour in 2024, highly acclaimed, rising star Caity Baser is certainly one to watch.

Based in Brighton, the Southampton born singer-songwriter has had four entries on the UK singles Chart including X & Y, Pretty Boys, Feels This Good – a Sigala single which also featured contributions from Stefflon Don & UK Eurovision entry Mae Muller – and Dance Around It with Joel Corry. She is also a member of the British collective of female and gender-expansive artists based in the capital – Loud LDN.

Tallulah Argue

22 year old singer-songwriter Tallulah Argue was born in Toronto, Canada, and is currently based in East London. Inspired by the greats of Country and Americana, mixed with alt and grunge – she recently presented THE THINGS I WISH I DID TO SEDUCE YOU live in London.
