Boy George Debuts as Captain Hook in Worlds Biggest Panto

Karma Chameleon hit maker Boy George makes his pantomime debut in what is called the World’s Biggest Panto as it closes its UK arena tour at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on the last weekend of the Christmas school holidays January 5-7.

The family friendly show is a mix of cirque and pantomime with a cast of 50, a giant crocodile, an interactive cannonball fight with the audience, high flying aerial stunts, a team of Riverdance style dancers and stunning cinematic cgi filmed backgrounds.

Boy George said: “I’m really looking forward to playing Captain Hook and showing off my evil side! I make my first entrance on a life size galleon that sails around the stage in front of an amazing water-wall fountain.

Although the show has traditional pantomime elements, it is so much more, being a mix of cirque and spectacular event … and I get a chance to fight a giant animatronic crocodile. What’s not to like?”

The show will bring Hollywood glamour by featuring the stage debut of Dorit Kemsley playing the mermaid. Known across the globe from the celebrated ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ tv show, Dorit said “I am so excited to work with George who is a dear friend and god-father to my children Jagger and Phoenix, who will also be in the show as part of Peter Pan’s gang. Prior filming commitments mean Dorit can’t appear in Liverpool and Cardiff, but her debut will be featured in her RHOBH tv show.

The cast of fifty includes a dozen cirque performers, dazzling aerial stunts, a giant battle where the audience throw cannonballs at Hook’s ship and a death-defying escape from a locked water tank by rising comedy star Jordan Conway playing Peter Pan, plus a large troupe of Irish and Highland dancers.

Fabulous animated digital sets redefine the genre with an immersive experience of magic and wonderment that even the most cynical audiences will be blown away by.

PETER PAN - The Arena Spectacular will open at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool on 26th October, England’s largest theatre outside London, with six performances at the same venue up to and including 29th October. Following the Blackpool run the show will tour seven arenas across the UK with the full line-up including:

We use every square inch of the stage and auditorium to deliver a massive production both breath-taking and hilarious. Two huge LED screens make sure nobody ever misses any of the action.”
