Celebrating Disney100: The Exhibition with our Favourite Disney Classics

As devoted Disney enthusiasts, the Eventim team is excited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney by taking a delightful stroll down memory lane. Much like children of all ages, our team had the privilege of growing up with a treasure trove of Disney classics that left an indelible mark on our hearts.

To commemorate this significant milestone, and the recent opening of Disney100: The Exhibition, we've come together to compile a comprehensive list of our all-time favourite Disney films. From timeless classics to contemporary gems and everything in between, our selection represents a diverse spectrum of Disney's cinematic excellence.

Cinderella

The timeless tale of Cinderella, first introduced to audiences in the beloved 1950 classic, has captured the hearts of generations with its enchanting story. Fast forward to 2015, and this cherished classic was reimagined, starring the likes of Lily James, Cate Blanchett, and Richard Madden. However, this modern-day adaptation brings with it unexpected twists and turns that resonate with the audience.

(Psst! Did you know that at the Disney100: The Exhibition you can witness a replica of Cinderella’s glass slipper?! Incredible!)

The Jungle Book

Step into the wild and lush world of The Jungle Book, where Mowgli, the man-cub, embarks on a jungle adventure like no other. In this classic tale brought to life on the big screen, we follow the precocious Mowgli as he navigates the perils and wonders of the jungle. With a cast that includes Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther, and the menacing Shere Khan, this film is a lively jungle party with more charisma than a snake-charmer.

Beauty & The Beast

"Be our guest" as we journey into the enchanting world of Beauty and the Beast, the Disney classic that's anything but a 'tale as old as time' in terms of its enduring charm. This cinematic masterpiece, directed by Bill Condon, is the epitome of a "tale as fresh as a daisy" when it comes to classic storytelling. In the heart of a quaint French village resides the spirited Belle, a bookworm with dreams that "someday her prince will come," though she'd prefer him to come with a library card. This charming story teaches us lessons in acceptance and that beauty lies within all of us.

The Lion King

The Lion King is a timeless Disney classic that has enthralled audiences for generations. Directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, this majestic tale of the ‘Circle of Life’ continues to reign as one of the most beloved animated films of all time. Both the Disney classic, and 2019 live action remake, was mentioned several times in our Disney trip down memory lane.

Moana

Set sail on a cinematic voyage to the lush and mythical islands of Polynesia as we dive into the world of Moana. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, this Disney animated gem is more than just a visually stunning adventure; it's a tale that celebrates courage, self-discovery, and the magic of the Pacific Ocean. But there's more excitement on the horizon.

Hold onto your coconuts, because in a thrilling announcement, Disney has set sail for 2025 with a live-action remake of Moana. While the details are still shrouded in mystery, one thing is clear - the breathtaking landscapes and the heart-warming story of Moana are about to make an even bigger splash on the silver screen.

Even though we couldn’t decide as a team which Disney film was the all time favourite what we could decide on is the power of Disney and how it unites all of us and keeps the magic alive. If you want to uncover all the Disney gems head to the Disney100: Exhibition where you can relive your childhood and dive into the world of wonder.
